Our name: Why we spell Pieoneers with an "e"

Here at Pieoneers, our clients often ask us about that extra "e" in our company name. What does pie have to do with web and mobile app development?

The answer of course lies with our co-founders Olena and Andrew, who turned to mathematics for inspiration when naming their new joint venture.

Although both Olena and Andrew are highly rational people, they were both drawn to the elegance, simplicity, and mystery of irrational numbers.

These are mathematical numbers whose decimal points continue on forever, seemingly with no discernable direction or pattern.

Two irrational numbers in particular appealed to Olena and Andrew: pi (π) and e (Euler's number).

For the non-mathematical among you:

Pi = the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.

e = the base of the natural logarithm, which is the time needed to reach a certain level of growth.

Whilst these irrational numbers seem complicated at first, when placed into an equation everything changes.

Pi and e generate beautiful results, transforming what seemed to be a random distribution of digits into something as simple as a circle or timeline.

This transformation from endless complexity to simple solution inspired Olena and Andrew--so they combined pi and e. From there, it was just a short leap to becoming Pieoneers.

This approach continues to inspire Pieoneers in the way we work today.

When beginning a project, we maintain an open-ended, investigative personality, while surveying the challenge.

Then, we use what we have learned to transform this research into simple, systematic, forward-thinking solutions.

And we always aim to be pieoneering new technologies, at the cutting edge of technical development.

So we're proud of our extra "e" and the successful simplicity it represents-and we believe our clients are too.
